	Remarks	Chilled pyruvate colletion tube is to be in hand prior to draw. Phleobotimist is to collet a Green (Sodium Heparin or Lithium Heparin) tube. Transfer 1 mL of WHOLE BLOOD into pyruvate collection tube.
	Notes	Mix well for 30 seconds and place in an ice bath for 10 minutes. Centrifuge specimen for 10 minutes at 1500 x g. Decant at least 1mL of supernatant into transport tube and refrigerate.
