The Male Fertility Analysis Program (Andrology Laboratory) is a state-of-the-art facility for the evaluation of male fertility. The laboratory supports the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division of the Obstetrics/Gynecology Department and also serves the Male Infertility, Male Reproductive Surgery and Medicine Division of the Urology Department; the Male Sexual Dysfunction and Infertility Clinic; and other physicians in private practice.
The laboratory uses computer-aided sperm analysis for precise measures of sperm count, motility and morphology and meets the accuracy standard (count, motility, and morphology) of the College of American Pathologists. Other tests and procedures offered are direct sperm antibodies, seminal fructose, sperm viability testing, retrograde ejaculation testing, post-vasectomy semen analysis, and sperm washing for intrauterine insemination (IUI). We also offer a cryostorage service for holding commercial donor IUI specimens.
The laboratory is located in room MB-453, adjacent to the Women's Center on the fourth floor of the Memorial Campus. The laboratory is open every day, but patients must schedule all requests at least 24 hours in advance. Weekend operations are limited to IUI preparations (mornings only).
