UMass Memorial Laboratories is one of the leading providers of clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services in New England, operating a large regional laboratory and satellite laboratories to meet the needs of patients and providers throughout New England.
We have extensive experience providing laboratory services for large multi-specialty group practices, smaller group practices, solo physicians, community health centers, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals and other health care providers throughout New England.
We provide lab services for More than 5,000 ordering providers and perform over 27 million laboratory tests per year.
We operate approximately 75 public patient service centers to serve our clients and their patients and we provide in-office phlebotomy services at many additional physician office locations. We also provide phlebotomy services for skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation hospitals and other health care providers.
We operate a regional courier network that provides one to three courier pickups per day at our laboratory customers' locations throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and southern New Hampshire.
We provide comprehensive customer support services through our telephone support center that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
We employ sales managers who are focused on selling, setting up, and facilitating the smooth start-up of new clients for UMass Memorial Laboratories.
One of our account managers is also assigned to each of our laboratory clients, to oversee the overall relationship between the client and UMass Memorial Laboratories. That individual is responsible for ensuring the prompt resolution to any client problems that cannot be immediately addressed by our client services telephone support center, and works to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
We provide comprehensive lab information services through our IS department, which employees 20 full time lab information systems analysts who are devoted full-time to meeting the needs of our laboratory and our laboratory clients. We have developed and maintain interfaces with all major Electronic Medical Records systems ("EMR's")and all major physician lab information systems. We offer a powerful, easy-to-use web based system for reviewing lab results via the internet from any PC, and for ordering lab tests if desired by that client.
We tailor our services to meet the needs of our clients, focus on achieving a smooth start-up of services and on-going high quality services, and establish collaborative relationships with our clients.
We have grown rapidly over the past fifteen years because many health care providers have converted to using UMass Memorial Laboratories and we have retained the loyalty and support of those providers.
